This session will focus on WHY you should be teaching students HOW to code, incorporate coding and robotics in the curriculum, and inspire students and teachers within the special needs classroom. Real life examples and videos will showcase how students in an Autism program and Cognitive Moderate program utilize various coding sites and apps to increase their computer literacy. In addition, presenters will demonstrate how to use small classroom-friendly robots, such as Ozobots, Sphero's and Drones as part of a coding lesson. Discussion will focus on “brainstorming” additional ways/ideas educational professionals can use coding apps and robots.
