Communications During a Referendum

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Successful referenda have one thing in common: an effective strategy for community engagement and public information. This program will focus on how to develop a communications plan that will educate voters about the proposal and, in the process, help win their support. Participants will learn how to identify various segments of the population, and how to tailor messages to them. Also discussed will be effective use of an array of communications channels, including social networks, traditional print media, community meetings, the district newsletter, and websites. Learn from a publications expert and a public relations professional whose district recently passed a $9.7 million bond referendum.
