Standards-based report cards and proficiency scales allow teachers and parents to track student learning and target their individual needs. Students can identify what they know and where they need to go by being part of this process. Move away from the "one and done" approach to grading, and towards a growth model that allows students time to revisit concepts, skills and ideas until they have met the standard.
