There are overwhelming benefits to creating, developing and maintaining a strong, positive connection between the school district and the local police department –and it’s imperative to establish this rapport in the good times so when challenges arise, both groups are prepared. Beginning with patrolman and teachers and leading up to the chief of police and superintendent, there needs to be an open relationship and communication to ensure the safety and security of the students and staff. This program will discuss the process of establishing the regular communication and mutual support that it takes to foster the connection.
