The ”Genius Hour” concept in classrooms is rapidly gaining momentum as a meaningful instructional practice. The practice involves setting aside time for students to explore their own passions; the idea is that allowing people to work on something that interests them encourages creativity and productivity. This session will explore how the Frenchtown School incorporated a Genius Hour for middle school students, and will discuss the challenges and triumphs, as well as how the school built the program to best meet student needs.
