This presentation will highlight New Jersey’s framework, strategies and best practices for developing high-quality structured learning experience (SLE) programs (also known as work-based learning programs) with an emphasis on administrative policies and requirements, and building robust connections with business and industry. The development of regulations that define SLE programs and their alignment to academic standards and technical skills, targeted guidance for school administrators and guidance staff, specific training for teachers that oversee SLE programs, self-assessment tools, and a focus on robust partnerships supports New Jersey’s mission to prepare all students for college and careers.
