Students with disabilities who remain enrolled in school during ages 18 to 21 require a very different kind of educational programming, including age-appropriate contexts to learn skills used in adult life such as community employment and using community resources such as transportation, shopping, banking, and recreation. Staff from Ridgefield Memorial High School’s innovative program will discuss their program, the best practices they use to effectively prepare students for a successful adult life, and how they fund the program, including the use of tuition students from surrounding communities.
