Sonic Highways Hometown Documentaries is an initiative that empowers students to create a filmed portrait of their town’s musical history through research in libraries and archives, and interviews with family members, local musicians, venue owners, historians and fans. Inspired by the Dave Grohl-directed HBO series Sonic Highways, and created in partnership with Steven Van Zandt’s Rock and Roll Forever Foundation, these documentaries will provide students a way to explore local history through music in an interdisciplinary learning experience.

Victor Bayers and Chris Corey,  teachers from Middletown Township School District, will also be co-presenting.
