The Eleanor Rush Intermediate School Music Makers - Eleanor Rush Intermediate School
The Eleanor Rush Intermediate School Music Makers is an expansive afterschool choir program started by music teacher Natasha Sigmund 10 years ago. Since its inception, the choir grew from 14 to over 100 students, and expanded from one to three performing groups. Any student interested in the group is invited to audition for one of the program's choirs. In 2010, Music Makers were named the winners of 101.1 More FM Christmas Choir Competition (elementary division), and performed with Peter Nero and the Philly Pops. The following year, the choir won NJ 101.5 Christmas Choir Contest. Music Makers are actively involved in school and community events. The music program at Rush school is inspired by Dr. Gordon’s Music Learning Theory, and was featured on NJ Classroom Close-Up.
