Federal case law requires boards of education to make sincere efforts to achieve diversity, and the state constitution prohibits school segregation. Despite this authority and years of effort, the reality of segregated schools in New Jersey remains. There is pending litigation that challenges segregated public schools and seeks to address the divide. This session will tackle this timely and interesting topic.
