Deputy Chief Kissane(ret.), was appointed by the Governor in 2014 to the Legislative NJ School Security Task Force as an expert in school safety and security. The Task Force members were tasked with developing and submitting a report to the New Jersey Legislature with recommendations on how to make New Jersey School’s Safer. To date, several new laws have been enacted based on the recommendations made by the task force. He is a member of the New Jersey K-12 School Security Task Force sub-committee chaired by the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security, a member of the New Jersey Law Enforcement Education Working Group chaired by the NJ Attorney General’s Office and NJ Department of Education, and is a former 10 year task force member of the National School Safety Technical Working Group chaired by the United States Department of Justice, National Institute of Justice. He is a nationally recognized trainer and expert in school safety and school related policing.
